Commenting on 3 other posts

The first blog I read was from http://kimayres.blogspot.com/. He talked about his unusual eye situation. He had a sense of humor about it, but he was pretty informative about what was going on with his "small pupils." I would read more from his blogs.

The next blog was from http://ashleybambaland.blogspot.com/. This blog had many paintings with captions about what the painting was. It appeared to be a promotion-type page for a graphic design company. I found it interesting that they used a blogging site to promote their work. I think there are better alternatives.

I guess I was wrong. I'm new to this whole blogging thing, so I wasn't aware of how many people promote their work and companies on their blogs. http://juliemagerssoulen.blogspot.com/ also promoted her work. She is a photographer and she seems to have a lot of fans/followers who look at her work. Maybe I need to promote myself on my blog!

Summer vacation

My summer was not the most eventful summer that I have had, but it was definitely a busy one. I worked two jobs (both of which were unpaid), but they were very beneficial for my career. One of my jobs was with Channel 4 for the Padres. I did stats work for their broadcasters and it was an awesome experience. I eventually want to be a broadcaster for the MLB, so this job was ideal to me because I gained a great relationship with the broadcasters and received great advice from them on a daily basis.
My second job was with NBC for their local news program. I interned with their sports department and learned how to produce a sports segment for the news. I learned a ton from this internship and I now have much more confidence on camera because I worked with true professionals. Going into the internship, I did not think I would gain the knowledge that I was looking for to help me become a baseball broadcaster, but I find that there are many similar aspects of news that I can apply to broadcasting.
The rest of my summer went by way too fast because of these jobs. I went a couple trips; I went to San Francisco for a Giants game, and I went to Reno with my dad for his business trip.
However, this year I did not get to make the annual trip to Hawaii with my parents because of the jobs. This was definitely disappointing, but it was still a good summer. I got to room with some of my really good friends and it was a lot of fun. I wasn't ready for my summer to end, but I guess school was ready for me.
